NEWS | IG Masonry Support Sponsors Craftsmanship Category at Brick Awards 2025

The annual Brick Development Association Brick Awards shortlist has been announced, and IG Masonry Support is proud to once again be part of this prestigious celebration of brick architecture in the UK.

This year, we’re delighted to sponsor the Craftsmanship category, which recognises exceptional examples of skilled brickwork that demonstrate attention to detail, quality, and artistry on site. This aligns closely with our values as a business focused on delivering precision-engineered solutions that support the highest standards of construction.

As one of the most respected accolades in the built environment, the Brick Awards highlight the creative and technical possibilities of clay brick across 17 categories. These span sectors such as housing, education, innovation, and specialist brickwork – showcasing standout contributions from architects, contractors, developers, and housebuilders.

NEWS | IG Masonry Support champions brickwork excellence at 2025 ABC Awards

IG Masonry Support is delighted to once again sponsor the Association of Brickwork Contractors (ABC) Awards 2025, reinforcing its commitment to advancing skills and excellence across the brickwork sector. 

The annual awards are a celebration of ‘outstanding quality in the brickwork contracting sector’, with the judges evaluating nominees across five categories: Supplier of the Year, Commitment to Training & Development, Project of the Year, Craftsperson of the Year and Bricklaying Apprentice of the Year.  IG Masonry Support will be sponsoring the Commitment to Training and Development category, helping to encourage the builders of the future and assist in the brickwork sector’s continued growth.   

Emphasising the company’s commitment, Scott Denham, Sales Director for IG Masonry Support said: “We are delighted to continue our sponsorship of these awards and partner with ABC who reflect our belief in nurturing talent and driving industry excellence. The type of training they provide is essential to ensuring products innovated by ourselves and other masonry-based companies are implemented using the highest workmanship. The winners of each category will be announced at a gala night being held at London’s St Pancras Hotel on 28th February 2025. It will mark the third time the awards have been held since their inception in 2021.

After much anticipation, the annual Brick Development Association Brick Awards shortlist has been revealed, and we are very proud to learn that IG Masonry Support products feature in seven projects across six categories. 

The Brick Awards celebrate the pinnacle of brick architecture and craftsmanship. Each year, hundreds of projects are submitted by eminent architects, brickwork contractors, main contractors and developers. These projects span a diverse spectrum of creativity, showcasing an array of colors, shapes, and brick types, unfolding across 18 hotly-contested categories.

NEWS | Hailing Brick Awards Success of ‘Highly Articulated’ Mixed-Use Development

We are proud to announce that Kindred House, a 25-storey mixed-use development in Croydon, benefitted from our innovative masonry support and brick slip systems, and was judged winner of the ‘Large Housing Development’ category at the 2023 Brick Development Association (BDA) Brick Awards.

Our bespoke products were deemed integral to the building’s high-quality brickwork finish to create a façade described as ‘highly articulated’ by judges.

Scott Denham, our Sales Director, said: “As a proud sponsor of the Large Housing Development category at the 2023 BDA Brick Awards, we’re delighted at Kindred House’s success. The project is an outstanding example of the striking, imaginative designs that can be fulfilled with brick, thanks in part to the evolution of evermore innovative masonry support. Congratulations to all involved.”

Kindred House, designed by Pitman Tozer Architects, is built on the site of a former car park adjacent to a flyover in Central Croydon. It comprises 128 apartments, 60 of which are affordable accommodation. Retail and public space, and 10,000sqft of office accommodation also form part of the development, which was constructed using more than half a million Zircon bricks manufactured by Wienerberger.

The building’s standout stepped form was instrumental in breaking up the building’s mass and creating an attractive composition of adjoining slender proportions. The building’s distinctive silhouette heralds a gateway to south Croydon’s Old Town.

Scott Denham continued: “We’re proud of our involvement with this outstanding project. It’s a credit to the ingenuity and collaborative efforts of each stakeholder that its execution earned the plaudits of the BDA Brick Awards esteemed judges.”

The annual Brick Development Association Brick Awards shortlist has been announced, and IG Masonry Support is proud to have supplied to nine of the shortlisted projects.

The Awards is one of the most prestigious brick architecture awards in the UK. It celebrates the very best examples of clay in the UK’s built environment and attracts a large number of exemplary projects from leading architects, housebuilders, developers, and contractors, across 17 categories.

This year, IG Masonry Support is sponsoring the Large Housing Development category, which recognises new-build, private, and public-sector residential developments, sited in the UK, which comprises 101 units or more.
