LP Windposts

LP Windpost designs are available in shorter lengths to provide the same level of stability to parapets or below windows. These posts are designed as fixed base cantilevers and are rarely more than 1.6 metres in height. The base connection is engineered to resist bending movement.

Windposts can be made to order at various sizes on a project basis. The tables shown for the LP Type Windpost detail typical section sizes to aid design, however, to ensure the most economical section is specified please contact our technical team.

All IG Windposts are supplied with plates or angles for fixing to the structure at top and base. It is important that masonry support windposts are fully fixed before commencement of the brickwork. Type of connection supplied to suit the requirements of each individual project.

Windposts are designed as a simple support beam. SWLs quoted are assuming adequate base and tip fixing to concrete.

LP Windposts are designed to be built into the internal leaf of the cavity wall and attached to external leaf with suitable connections and fixings.
