Essoldo House is a 41,700 sqft development situated in the King’s Road area of Chelsea, London. A mixed-use development for commercial, public, leisure and residential purposes, it comprises a cinema, 11 residential apartments and three retail units.
The project, which was completed in 2020, was designed by Nick Shipp Architects and built by VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd.
For this build, IG Masonry Support supplied its B.O.S.S. (Brick on Soffit System), Brick Slip Lintels, Welded Masonry Support, Folded Angle masonry support, Cast-in Channel and brick cutting services to client VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd.
A key feature of the project was the semi-circular soffit design at the building’s entrance. IG Masonry Support designed and manufactured sectional B.O.S.S. units which bolted up to IG’s Welded Masonry Support systems.
Brick Slip Lintels were supplied for the Ground, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor openings, facilitating fast and efficient installation and creating stunning brickwork features.
The project also required 2314 solider, pistol, and pistol corner bricks to be cut at IG Masonry Support’s Brick Cutting Facility. Delivered from site, each brick was cut with precision and utilised on the specified brick slip systems or in some cases, delivered back to site for use in other areas of the build.
