61-67 Great Eastern Street

Designed by 5plus Architects, the build had to utilise part of the original façade of two late Victorian warehouses. Their proposals focused on the heritage aspects that would enhance the setting, including the restoration of a pub and the return façade of No.61 Great Eastern Street being retained to act as the main entrance to the Hart Hotel.

Vascroft Contractors Ltd approached IG Masonry Support to design and manufacture Brick Slip Soffit Panels to create striking triangular soffit detail above the entrance at the building’s ground floor. We also designed and manufactured a stainless steel hanger system which allowed the Brick Slip Soffit Panels to be fixed up to the concrete slab by the installer.

Brick Slip Soffit Panels are prefabricated systems which arrive onsite with brick slips adhesively bonded to the brick carrier unit and enable up to a 90% reduction of labour required onsite. Utilising bricks from the live site ensures each panel blends seamlessly with the surrounding traditional brickwork.
