The Vinson Centre

The University of Buckingham £8 million Vinson Centre for Economics and Entrepreneurship, was the first of its kind in the UK.

Built by Beard Construction, the Vinson Centre is a three-storey learning build comprising a 160-seat lecture theatre, a double-height study centre complete with a mezzanine and informal learning spaces, a student café, and a new university bookshop. The 2,300m2 building, designed by Panter Hudspith Architects, also contains seminar rooms and staff offices.

IG Masonry Support designed and supplied main contractor Beard Construction with 109 Brick Slip Lintels for each window head, made up of 157 brick slips, three course deep soldier course. The face and soffit contain a sawn finish, supporting the delivery of the architect’s vision.
