Paxton Building

The Paxton Building is a dynamic new addition to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium campus, delivering modern ticketing, retail, and office space that supports both match day operations and year-round community use. Positioned beside the historic Lilly White House, the building has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the evolving identity of the area while connecting seamlessly with its surroundings.

Located in the heart of Tottenham, the Paxton Building plays a key role in Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s wider plan to regenerate the area around their new stadium. Sitting next to the existing Lilywhite House, the four-storey building provides new ticketing, retail, and office spaces. A raised podium connects the new structure to the existing building, improving access and creating a smooth flow between the two.

The building combines steel and concrete construction to create large, open interior spaces without the need for internal columns. On the outside, the façade features a distinctive Flemish bond brick pattern, using a mix of Staffordshire Slate Blue Smooth and Funton Second Hard Stock bricks. The raked joints and deep brick soffits add texture and depth, giving the building a strong and detailed appearance.

IG Masonry Support was selected to design and supply a comprehensive package of masonry support and prefabricated brick slip systems, each engineered to meet the project’s specific structural and aesthetic requirements. The package included over 26 metres of Welded Masonry Support (WMS), 16 metres of Brick Slip Lintels, and 5 metres of B.O.S.S. A1 (Brick on Soffit Systems).

A key feature of the scheme is the continuous run of masonry support installed along the entire first floor, marking the transition between the grey and red brickwork façades. Each Welded Masonry Support system was engineered to accommodate differential movement between the two brick zones while maintaining a clean and consistent coursing line.

Brick Slip Lintels, featuring a 215mm-deep soffit and a 2050mm-wide opening, were used to create precise brick detailing and visual continuity above window heads.

Another defining architectural feature is the 665mm-deep soffit return spanning a 4.6-metre-wide opening above the underground car park entrance. This was achieved using our prefabricated B.O.S.S. A1 , which delivered uniform soffit detailing, significantly reduced on-site installation time, and ensured a seamless visual finish.

Through close collaboration with the project team and a commitment to precision engineering, IG Masonry Support helped realise the architect’s vision for the Paxton Building, delivering a refined brick façade that enhances both the functionality and identity of this landmark Tottenham development.
