Foxwood House

Foxwood House is a bespoke new-build residential development located in north London. Set within a conservation area and Green Belt, the scheme replaces a fire-damaged property with a carefully designed, contemporary home that responds sensitively to its surroundings while maximising views across the landscape.

Designed by John Pardey Architects and delivered by Absolute Building Ltd, Foxwood House is a highly considered residential one-off build that balances architectural ambition with environmental sensitivity. The L-shaped, steel-framed structure is set into a sloping site, appearing as a single-storey dwelling from the road while revealing a two-storey elevation to the south-facing landscape. The façade combines earthy linear brickwork with timber and zinc elements, creating a refined, understated appearance that complements the natural setting.

IG Masonry Support was appointed to deliver masonry support and brick slip soffit systems to achieve the architect’s vision for clean, continuous brick detailing around key openings. A total of 7.3 m of Welded Masonry Support and B.O.S.S. A1 (Brick on Soffit Systems) were installed along the pool and lawn-facing elevation, where they met at the corner of a large L-shaped window opening. Welded Masonry Support was fixed directly to the concrete structure to carry the masonry loads, while the B.O.S.S. A1 units were bolted to the support system to form precise soffit detailing in a stretcher course bond pattern. Specialist brick cutting services were also carried out in IG Masonry Support’s in-house factory, producing 35 stretcher pistol bricks to integrate with the masonry support systems.

The project required careful coordination to achieve the desired brick soffit detailing across openings and large glazed areas, particularly where architectural features such as the L-shaped window created complex geometry. IG Masonry Support developed tailored solutions to ensure accurate alignment, structural integrity, and a high-quality finish, while maintaining the clean, minimal aesthetic set out by the architect.

By delivering engineered masonry support, prefabricated brick soffit systems, and precision brick cutting, IG Masonry Support helped achieve a consistent and visually refined façade.

Foxwood House demonstrates how bespoke masonry solutions can support high-end residential design, achieving both technical performance and architectural intent within a sensitive planning context.
