This completed development comprises 17 high-specification apartments positioned above newly constructed retail and restaurant units. Ideally situated within a 10-minute walk of iconic London landmarks such as the Tower of London and the River Thames, the building offers a harmonious blend of premium residential living and vibrant urban convenience.
IG Masonry Support worked in close collaboration with architects Archiview Ltd to deliver tailored masonry support solutions that were instrumental in achieving the building’s structural integrity and striking façade. Our involvement included the design and supply of several key systems, including corbelled brick slip soffit systems, masonry support, Cast-In Channels, Windposts, and brick cutting services.
A standout feature of the project is the corbelled B.O.S.S. A1 (Brick on Soffit System) detail above the window openings. To achieve this distinctive stepped brickwork, we engineered bespoke units in a variety of stretcher, header, and soldier brick orientations, resulting in a unique and visually impactful architectural finish.
One of the project’s key challenges was supporting double-skinned brickwork. To address this, our design team engineered an extended shelf to accommodate the increased load. Additionally, the varied cavity widths—especially along the curved sections of the structure—introduced significant complexity. Standardised solutions were not feasible, so we developed a series of bespoke Dropper Welded Masonry Support systems and Folded Angles, each precisely tailored to fit the cavity width at its specific location.
To further enhance the design, 640 pistol bricks were precision-cut at our in-house Brick Cutting Facility. These specially shaped bricks were designed to integrate seamlessly with our Welded and Folded Angle masonry support systems.
For the 6th-floor parapet, we also supplied LP Windposts to be built into the inner skin of the cavity wall, complete with all necessary fixings and ties.
