The £15 million project completed in 2020 for HG Construction includes 41 homes and adaptable commercial units in South Bank, London, featuring bespoke masonry support systems.

Overview

Completed in 2020, the £15 million project for HG Construction and Colorama features 41 homes designed to blend seamlessly with their surroundings while offering modern living spaces.

Rated BREEAM “Excellent”, the development features adaptable, self-contained commercial units situated in the vibrant cultural hub of South Bank, London. The project was designed by Alan Camp Architects and built by HG Construction LTD (Herts).

IG Masonry Support supplied a total of 329.2m of masonry support systems in dropper and inverted variations to the build’s 2nd 4th, 5th and 6th floors fixed back to Cast-in Channel. Both the 2^nd and 6^th floors required extremely bespoke systems where a curved façade is present. Masonry support corners were provided for the 2nd, 4th and 6th floors, featuring 120mm dropper brackets.

IG also supplied 27.12m of its B.O.S.S. (Brick on Soffit System) for the 4th, 5^th and 6th floors, as well as 10.96m of Brick Slip Lintels, both featuring a stretcher course bond pattern.

The client required 2425 Pistol Bricks to be cut at IG Masonry Support’s dedicated Brick Cutting Facility in South Derbyshire to be utilised with each masonry support system.
