Tailored to meet the industry’s need for swift construction, TITAN MAX is a comprehensive stainless steel system readily available with components suitable for a broad range of cavity widths.

Comprising a relieving angle shelf, angle brackets, lock washers, shims, and anchors, TITAN MAX serves as a excellent alternative to our Welded Masonry Support solution, providing structural engineers with a versatile option.

The user-friendly front-fit loading of TITAN MAX simplifies installation, and the stainless steel angle bracket system is specifically designed to accommodate typical build tolerances on-site, ensuring precise and hassle-free installation.

IG Masonry Support provides two TITAN MAX systems: TITAN MAX 7.5 and TITAN MAX 12.5. Designed for both concrete and steel-framed structures, these systems are capable of accommodating masonry veneer loads up to 7.5 and 12.5 kN/m, respectively.

Standard shelf angle brackets are offered for cavity widths ranging from 2-1/2″ (64mm) to 6″ (152mm), with stock available in 1/2″ (12.7mm) increments. Larger cavity sizes can be achieved using our Welded Masonry Support system. For more details, please reach out to our technical team.

TITAN MAX offers adjustability in all three planes (X, Y, & Z) to accommodate building tolerances and prevent contact with reinforcing bars. (X) Shimming, (Y) Vertical Adjustment, (Z) Lateral Adjustment

Shimming (X)

To adjust for a slight increase in cavity width, shims can be placed between the support structure and the bracket. Thermal shims are 5/64″ (2mm) thick, and stainless steel shims are 5/32″ (4mm) thick.
• The total thickness of shims per brick support bracket should not exceed half the outside diameter of the anchor or 1/4” (6mm), whichever is less.
• The combined use of shims should not exceed two (1 x thermal shim and 1 x stainless steel shim).
• Shims must fully support and make contact with the Load Bearing Zone of the bracket against the support structure.

TITAN MAX includes 5/64″ (2mm) thermal shims as standard, with additional stainless steel shims available upon request.

Vertical adjustment (Y)

Vertical adjustment is achieved with a toothed lock washer inserted into the serrated slot in the support bracket. It can be vertically adjusted by moving the metal bracket higher or lower as needed. The serrated area allows up to +/- 5/8” (16mm) adjustment in either vertical direction. Fine adjustment is possible by rotating the lock washer 180 degrees, facilitated by the offset hole in the washer.

Lateral adjustment (Z)

Each TITAN MAX System typically has two brackets per shelf angle (except for corners where three brackets may be used).
To determine the correct bracket spacing, add approximately 1/2” (12mm) to the shelf angle length and then space ¼-½-¼ along this measurement. Maximum adjustment from these positions is +/- 1” (25mm), allowing movement of the bracket position if needed due to reinforcing bar interference with drill hole placement or slight offset of pre-drilled steel.
The lock washer also enables lateral adjustment through the oval-shaped hole. The anchor can be laterally moved for fine adjustment.

Note: Nominal shelf angle length = shelf angle + 1/2” (12mm).
