The awards director Dave Bryon said: “Once again the Burton Mail Business Awards proved to be a fantastic occasion celebrating the very best businesses from across our region. More than 30 finalists were represented on the night, and all of these should be very proud to have been selected from a record number of initial entries. The 12 category winners were all of the very highest quality, and demonstrate the excellent performances that we continue to see in the business community across East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire.”

IG Masonry Support employs 42 staff from its base in the area and staff were delighted to learn they had won the award, sponsored by JCB.

Owen Coyle, general manager, said: “The Best Use of Innovation and Technology award will take pride of place in our new offices in Swadlincote. It really means so much to our team who have worked tirelessly over the last two years to bring this fantastic product to the market. It’s an honour to be recognised for all our efforts.”

Emma Grant, who works as a detailer with the firm, said: “Being a new member of the IG Masonry support team, it is great privilege to be included in winning the Best Use of Innovation and Technology award at the Burton Mail Business of the Year award. It was a pleasure to be recognised as part of such an innovative and hardworking team and I hope we are able to win many more awards in the future.”

The firm received praise on the night for its quick growth in just two years. It was also praised for the way it used new products to carve out a niche market in the industry.
