With Awards open to architects, house builders, brick contractors, manufacturers and developers, an IG Masonry Support project won Best Large Housing Development and the prestigious Supreme Award, and another IG Masonry Support project was highly commended for Best Small Housing Development.
South Gardens (MP1) by Maccreanor Lavington Architects and Lee Marley Brickwork won ‘Best Large Housing Development’. Using IG Masonry Support Brick Slip Lintels and B.O.S.S., they created the first 360 new homes across three plots, including 3 storey townhouses, 7 to 10 storey mansion blocks, and a 16 storey tower.
Judges commented, “The high quality of detail design and construction, carried through from macro to micro scale is to be applauded.”
South Gardens then went on to take the Supreme Award. Judges commented: “The level of refinement in the detailed execution of the facades, coupled with the landscape treatment is exemplary. The quality of the brickwork is exceptional on what must have been a difficult project, given the variety of detail within the elevational design. The result is a high quality of finish throughout and a calming and well landscaped environment in which to live.”
Salesian House, shortlisted in the ‘Small Housing Development’ category, was highly commended. Using IG Masonry Support Brick Slip Panels, Brick Slip Masonry Support, Standard Masonry Support and Brick Slip Lintels, MSMR Architects and Roof Ltd created a community house forming part of the redevelopment of buildings for the St John Bosco College in Battersea.
As proud sponsors of the ‘Worldwide Project’, IG Masonry Support would like to extend a huge congratulations to AleaOlea Architecture & UTE Construccions Jaen Valles for their winning Old Church of Vilanova De La Barca project.
The Brick Awards is the longest, most well established design awards in the UK, with all successful projects and winners published in a wide variety of architectural press, including RIBA Journal and Architecture Today.
